About the Institute

Situated in the village of Riddlesden, with convenient access to the main routes into Keighley and surrounding areas, the Institute provides a well-located and easily accessible community venue. The building is available for hire by regular user groups and single events – offering two flexible spaces — one large hall and one smaller hall — suitable for a wide variety of activities, meetings, classes, and social events.

Set within mature gardens alongside the canal, the Institute enjoys a peaceful and attractive setting. The outdoor space creates an excellent opportunity to host summer events and community gatherings in a unique environment.

The grounds are also home to Riddlesden Tennis Club, an independent organisation with its own pavilion and three all-weather tennis courts, further enhancing the site’s role as a vibrant community hub.

Constructed by public subscription in 1919 to commemorate the Riddlesden servicemen who lost their lives in the First World War, the Institute remains a registered War Memorial and charity. It is overseen by a dedicated team of Trustees and Committee members committed to preserving its heritage while supporting its continued use by the community.
